so this is going to be my (ideally) daily blog of the creativity of eating vegan on tour, through all those truck stops and fast food joints of america. I currently travel with a reusable shopping bag filled with stolen cereals from hotel continental breakfast's as well as a small cooler that i fill with ice every morning. it's a good time.

i might try and take pictures we'll see what i can get done.

today in atlanta georgia

breakfast: rice milk from my cooler with honey nut cheerios from the hotel lobby, not too shabby

snack: bbq chex mix (deliciousness, and I love bbq and I didn't want to eat potato chips so it's a nice alternative)

lunch: delicious thai food from Kokai Thai bistro 5495 jimmy carter blvd nocross, ga 30093. great food and cute paintings of chickens on the wall. there I had: veggie spring rolls pad-seu with fried tofu, broccoli, beans, carrots, and green onions with a peanut sauce. (this tour I have eaten my first thai food and have fallen in love with it! i love pad seu and love that each time i eat it it kind of tastes different, loves it)

dinner: I'm not 100% sure yet. maybe i'll have some more bbq chex mix or the pear with acai cup or maybe an apple. i'm not really that hungry.

ps the walmart in athens alabama had the worst produce section ever (minus the delicious snap peas whichi i am obsessed with) the lettuce i bought yesterday is already rotten, even though i've refridgerated it both nights.

so yes! first post enjoy!

  1. i hope i don't break your heart with this news:
but none of the chex cereals are vegan as the vitamin d3 in them is sourced from sheep :(

  2. it wasn't chex cereal, but the chex mix and there's no d3 in that as far as i can see.

  3. Be careful when you eat thai food, it often contains fish sauce. It is best to ask the server if the sauce has fish oil/paste in it. Even if the dish is in the "vegetarian" section of the menu, they still usually have fishes.
Thaifood is very sneaky, but delicious.

Sorry if you already knew this!

  4. Erm, doesn't honey nut cheerios have honey in it, making it not vegan?

  5. i'll be sure to ask next time about the thai- i had no idea actually thanks shannon!

and deerfold yes, honey nut cheerios does have honey in it. when i don't live on the road i don't eat honey, and i do try to avoid eating it- but sometimes i eat it (please see my little bio thing) I use agave in my own tea and stuff but sometimes it's eat something with honey in it or eat nothing at all.
